Forgotten Love copyright 1999

Forgotten love

The heart inside,
Cripples me.
The need to be loved,
To be held,
Like a giant crack,
In a medieval castle wall,
It is exploited by those who only wish to pillage.
Once they’ve taken what it is they can,
They leave, knowing the flaw will never mend.
How many times can the wall be destroyed,
Before at long last,
There is no wall.
No defense.
No protection
Nothing but the trampled remains,
That no one cares for,
Rotting in a forgotten field.
